Shivapuri Hiking is an easy grade day trip. Unlike other, this is not arduous hike. The descant down to Nagi Gumba will be more rewarding. You need a permit at Army Checkpoint to enter the Shivapuri National Park area and it cost you US$ 5 (500 NPR). Once you enter the national park you’ve to walk few hours on dusty roads and to meet the hiking trail. At the point of hiking there you can see famous Nagi Gumba in the northern east direction. To reach that Gumba you have to walk for 2 km. After reaching to Nagi Gumba, continue to ascent for 900m to reach at the top of the National park known as Shivapuri National Park Peak.
Shivapuri Hiking is one of the popular hiking route starts from Kathmandu Valley. This one day hiking tour offers the insight of majestic view of Langtang Himalayan range, wonderful vistas of wilderness, and eagle eye view of Kathmandu Valley and around. The origin of Holy River Bagmati is also lies in the area of Shivapuri. There you can find the pristine water source of Bagmati River.
Along the way you can see the emerging mountains at horizon infront. At 4.5km descant you’ll see the Baghdwar. The Nepali meaning of Bagh means “Tiger” and Dwar means “Gateway”. Here, we can encounter a small gargoyle shaped like a tiger. This is also the origin place of Bagmati river.
After early breakfast, our representative will come to pick you up from the hotel. Be sure to ready 10 minute before the arrival of our representative. Then you’ll proceed to Nagi Gumba by private vehicle.
After the arrival at Nagi Gumba, you’ll visit the Gumba and start your hiking journey to Shivapuri Peak.
You can enjoy the view of mountains, wilderness and return back to hotel. Along the way you'll visit Baghdwar and Nagi Gumba and return to hotel by private vehicle from Nagi Gumba
