Langtang Region Overview
Langtang region is dominated by the Langtang Himalayan Range to the altitude of 5,520m. The major attraction of this region is Bamboo and Rhododendron forest, waterfalls, panoramic mountain views, challenging trekking trails, and typical culture of the local people. This region is credited for the hosting of Langtang National Park (Area: 1,710 sq. km.). There are 13 measured (above 5,000m to 7,234m) mountains lies in this Langtang Himalayan Range. The scared Hindus religious Lake complex Gosainkunda is also situated in the same region. The source of Trishuli river is also GosainKunda. Trishuli River is worldwide popular for the water sports like rafting, canning, Kayaking etc. Kyanjin Gompa (a Buddhist monastery/Chorten) is popular monastery in this region.
